21. Why can't I take children into the members changing area?

Children are not allowed to use the members changing rooms as access to the health suite including sauna, steam room and importantly the Jacuzzi is unsecured and unsupervised (unlike the swimming areas).  Risk assessments are required for all areas of operation and have identified the risk associated with unsupervised children in this area.  Children who have managed to access the health suite without their parent knowing has a risk significant enough to warrant that no children should be allowed in the area.  We stress that this is purely for safety reasons as even if accessing the suite, all three facilities in it are not suitable for children (of certain ages).  Children are still able to use the pool however, and must use the changing village with parent members as this area is designed with family use in mind.  This procedure has been established for the safety of all users.  Staff will ask any members trying to bring children into this area to use the changing village.

22. The temperature in the changing village is sometimes a bit cold?

We are aware of this and the central heating system is being investigated to isolate this are to ensure it remains constant. The under floor heating is also being monitored to assist in alleviating any temperature issues. Options to enable a door to pool side is also being considered which will reduce draught from the pool to the changing room, and also to pool users in the small pool who have experienced draught from the changing area.

23. How often are the changing rooms cleaned?

The whole of the sport village is cleaned each morning.  Changing rooms and toilets (as well as other areas identified) are cleaned throughout the day by cleaning staff who are on site during this period.  Areas which have been highlighted as attracting a need  for more prominent attention have been identified by both staff and customer comments, and these have been addressed by introducing more staff to clean these areas.

24. Are there soap dispensers in the Members and Village changing area?

All Showers are fitted with soap dispensers
