Group Training (also known as chaingang riding), is a great way to stay fit throughout the winter, learn new techniques, and meet new people. You don’t have to be a racing snake to learn and enjoy the benefits of riding in a group – we have a range of sessions for different abilities. Once you have learnt the basics you will be able to ride further and faster. And because our sessions take place on our traffic-free floodlit circuit, you’ll be safe throughout the darker months.
Thursdays 8:00 – 9:00 pm: Intermediate / Advance
Our regular sessions cost just £4 each – or purchase 10 sessions for the price of 8! There’s no need to book – just show up at York Sport Cycle Circuit. We’ll see you there!

Can I ride with Tri Bars?
No! Full tri bars or clip ons are not permitted for these sessions.
Should I have lights?
The facility is flood lit, so you don’t need lights, we would recommend that you have lights fitted at a backup! If you ride to the sessions please turn off your lights once on the circuit.
What sort of bikes are allowed?
Roadworthy, well maintained bikes, road, hybrid and mtb’s are all ok. We do not allow time trail bikes.
How long can I stay on the circuit?
Once you have paid and signed on you can stay until the end of the session, there is no need to sign out of the session.
Is there anything special I need to do for my first session?
You will need to complete a registration form, sign into the session and paid car the cycle cabin. We would also recommend you do a few laps on your own to get a feel for the circuit before joining in the group riding.
Do I need mudguards?
We strongly recommend mudguards, but its not a condition of the session.
