INDOOR SESSIONS BETWEEN OCTOBER – MARCH!

OUTDOOR SESSIONS BETWEEN APRIL – SEPTEMBER!

Designed to further develop young rider skills and confidence in a fun environment.

Approximate age guidance: 8-10 years olds.

The second stage on our pathway includes teaching fun activities to develop spatial awareness, bike control, confidence and cycling skills. They will learn intermediate level bike handling skills such as cornering, slalom, following riders wheels, weaving, pace judgement, riding together, and multiple skills games.

Our sessions are devised by British Cycling coaches and delivered on pedal bikes, we use Frog Bikes. Size restrictions: 34 – 42 cm inside leg and Height of 92 – 104cm.

All bikes and bike helmets are provided. If bringing your own bike, it must have gears. Children may wear their own suitably fitted bike helmet. Bike helmets are compulsory.

WHAT TO WEAR

We suggest you wear comfortable clothing, preferably no dresses or skirts to avoid anything getting caught in bike wheels or chain. Footwear needs to be a closed toe shoe, with good grip. Strictly no sandals. For outdoor classes please wear appropriate clothing for the weather conditions.

LOCATION

October – March : York Sport Centre (YO10 5NA) – Please note the sessions are indoor.

April – September : York Sport Village (YO10 5FG) – Please note the sessions are outdoor.
