  • What to expect from a SUF Cycling session

Whether your a new gym members trying out a cycling class for the first time, or a hard-core, experiences outdoor cyclist, you have the ability to suffer on your own personal scale of exertion from 1 to 10.

It’s important to know how the scale works so you can ensure you get the best out of the workout. You will have an opportunity in the warm-up to get a feel for the various levels (threshold, recovery, etc…)

The sessions are all about PEAKS, so when we ask you to ride above threshold, it should feel like your pushing your limit and giving it all you’ve got, so the higher end of the scale at 8-10.

To constantly git these peaks you’re going to need to make the most of the rest periods – which is sometimes why you’ll find that the rest intervals are long that you may expect. This is how professionals trains, its all about quality.

Remembers you’re not competing against anyone, its about doing your workout based on your fitness, strength and experience. Your 8 and your fellow cyclists 8 may be very different so don’t push yourself too far over the edge.
