Welcome to the York Sport Junior Triathlon Club

We are delighted to introduce our club, designed especially to nurture the talents of young triathletes. Whether your child is a beginner or has previous experience in the sport, our club offers a supportive and inclusive environment to help them develop their skills and achieve their goals.

About us:

At York Sport Junior Triathlon Club, we aim to foster a love for triathlon among children aged 8 to 16 years old. Our experienced coaches are committed to providing quality coaching and guidance, fostering personal growth, and promoting teamwork and sportsmanship. We believe in instilling healthy habits and values that will benefit our young athletes both in and outside of training and racing.

Training Sessions:

During the school term time, we offer multiple bike, run, and swim sessions each week. These sessions are tailored to different age groups and skill levels, so whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned triathlete, there’s something for everyone. Our training sessions are thoughtfully structured to provide a well rounded approach to triathlon training. Under the guidance of our coaches, participants will have the opportunity to improve their swimming, cycling, running and transition skills.

From learning proper techniques to building strength and endurance, our training sessions cater to all skill levels. We prioritise safety and incorporate fun and creative activities to keep our young athletes engaged. Our training sessions are led by fully qualified coaches from British Triathlon and British Cycling, ensuring that you receive the best guidance and support.

Don’t have a bike or helmet? No problem at all! We have bike and helmet hire available, so you don’t need to worry about investing in expensive equipment right away. This makes it easier for newcomers to give triathlon a try without any commitments.

Competition and Events:

Participating in triathlon competitions and events is an excellent way for our young athletes to put their training into practice and showcase their abilities. We actively encourage our members to participate in local, regional and even national competitions, helping them gain valuable race experience and fostering their competitive spirit. We also aim to create a friendly, supportive and inclusive community within our club.

Benefits of Joining:

Joining our Junior Triathlon Club brings various benefits for young athletes. They will have access to professional coaching, gain valuable knowledge and skills, and have the chance to form friendships with fellow triathletes. Being part of our club will also enhance self-confidence, resilience, and a strong work ethic, all of which are essential for personal growth.
